Italy too strong for Croatia in Turi

In the derby game of the Group B at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Turin, the home side were too strong for Croatia in the first game of the Croatians at the tournament. Italy will be at the top of the group at the end of the first stage with two victories in two games.

The Croatians started the game well and led both after first quarter and first half by two points. However, the game turned into Italy's favour in the second part, which Italy has opened with a partial 21:12 score in the third quarter and entered the last one with a seven point advantage. It has been a blow from which the guests haven't managed to recover until the end and eventually they lost the clash with the finals score of 67:60.

Bojan Bogdanović topped Croatia's scorers' list with 26 points, while another former Cibona star Dario šarić followed him with 11.

With second victory grabbed in two games, Italy took the final first place in Group B. Croatia will battle for the second place in the group and a place in the tournament Semi-finals in the Day 3 game of the Group B against Tunisia.
