Stockton signed with Cedevita

Get ready for a lot of amazing assists in the next season! David Stockton, son of NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton, signed a three-year deal with Cedevita!

David Stockton was born on June 24, 1991, he is 180 cm tall and he is playing as point guard, like his father. Stockton has studied at the famous Gonzaga University, he was not not drafted by any of the NBA clubs in 2014, but he did played 3 games for Sacramento Kings in 2014/15 season, averaging 7.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals per match.

He had much more significant role in the NBA Development League where he played 88 games in two seasons for Reno Bighorns. In 2014/15 season Stockton's average numbers were 20.1 points, 9.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 steals, while in the 2015/16 campaign this point guard had 17.9 points, 7.1 assists, 3. rebounds, 1.1 steals per match.

He has been playing NBA Summer League for 3 years in a row. In 2014 he was part of Phoenix Suns, while in 2015 and 2016 he played for Sacramento Kings.

"He is a great guy, a player with good basketball character, very fast and with outstanding passing skills. It is important to mention that we signed a three-year contract with Stockton, which means that he is in our long-term plans. I am sure that David will improve from match to match while he is in Cedevita and that he will become a world-class point guard. As his mother has Croatian origin, he mat relatively quickly receive a Croatian citizenship, while he has already expressed interest to play for the Croatian national team in the future. Also, we are planing to sign another foreign point guard, so he and David will cover that position in the 2016/17 season, while there will be some more surprises in the ongoing transfer period..." said Matej Mamić, Sports Director of Cedevita.

David Stockton 3 godine u Cedeviti

David Stockton rođen je 24. lipnja 1991. i visok je 180cm. Četiri godine pohađao je poznato sveučilište Gonzaga, a u svojoj posljednjoj sveučilišnoj sezoni u prosjeku je kao starter bilježio 7.4 poena, 2.4 skoka, 4.2 asistencije i 1.5 ukradene lopte za 27.8 minuta po utakmici.

Stockton nije bio izabran na NBA draftu, a u NBA ligi upisao je tri nastupa u dresu Sacramento Kingsa u sezoni 2014/2015 uz prosjek od 2.7 poena i 3 asistencije za 11 minuta.

Mnogo zapaženiju ulogu David je imao u NBDL ligi, gdje je u posljednje dvije sezone odigrao 88 utakmica za Reno Bighorns. U sezoni 2014/2015 bilježio je u prosjeku 20.1 poen, 9.3 asistencije, 4.2 skokova i 2.5 ukradenih lopti za 30.5 minuta, dok je u sezoni 2015/2016 bio je na prosjeku od 17.9 poena, 7.1 asistencija, 3.1 skokova i 1.1 ukradenih lopti za 31.4 minuta po utakmici.

U tri navrata igrao je i u NBA Ljetnoj ligi. Uoči sezone 2014/2015 nastupao je za Phoenix Sunse, a prošlo i ovo ljeto nosio je dres Sacramento Kingsa.

"Važno je istaknuti da smo potpisali na 3 godine i da na njega računamo dugoročno. Siguran sam da će u Cedeviti David rasti iz utakmice u utakmicu i da će se kod nas profilirati kao vrhunski playmaker. On zbog majke može relativno brzo dobiti hrvatsko državljanstvo, a već je izrazio želju da bi u budućnosti mogao biti na raspolaganju hrvatskoj reprezentaciji. Informativno, mi na poziciju playmakera dovodimo još jednog Amerikanca pa će njegovim i ovim Davidovim potpisom uskoro biti zatvorena ta pozicija za slijedeću sezonu a bit će i još nekoliko iznenađenja", zagonetan je Mamić.

Davidov otac poznati je američki košarkaš John Stockton.
