The 2016 FIBA U20 European Championship is over. Spain are the new champions of Europe, while the teams from this region did not have a lot of success in the A Division. Slovenia finished their U20 Eurobasket campaign at the 9th place, while Serbia ended up at the 11th place.

It is important to mention that both Slovenia and Serbia managed to stay in A Division despite not so good result at the Eurobakset 2016, while from the next year they will be accompanied in the elite division by Montenegro!

Montenegro have won the FIBA U20 European Championship B Division after defeating Iceland in a trilling overtime finals - 78:76 (71:71). The MVP of the game was Aleksa Ilić of Budućnost VOLI who scored 14 points and had 18 rebounds!

Unfortunately, Croatia failed to secure a ticket for the A Division as they lost the 3rd place match against Greece - 67:73. Croatia have therefore finished the competition at the 4th place, Bosnia and Herzegovina came 5th, while Macedonia stayed at the 14th place of the B Division.
