EuroBasket2017 Qualifiers: New triumphs for Macedonia, Montenegro and Slovenia

Montenegro and Slovenia stay perfect in the EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers. Macedonia beat Luxembourg for the second time, while BiH were defeated by Russia at home in Tuzla.

Montenegro have achieved their fourth win of the EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers, as they have outplayed Slovakia on the road in Nitra city hall. There was no doubt regarding the final outcome of the game since the very beginning, as the guests were up by 16 points already at half time. By the end of the 3rd period, the margin rose to 37 points and the winner was decided. The final score of the game is 99:62 and Nikola Vučević was the one that made the most difference in favour of Montenegro, as he scored 17 points, while Derek Needham, contributed 13.

On the contrary to what has been expected, Macedonia did not have any serious problems with Luxembourg. Dragan Raca"s side were up by 14 points already at half time when fans already thought that they would not have to spend lots of energy in the second part of the game, Luxembourg hit back on them and took a 1-point lead before the final quarter. However, in the last 10 minutes, Macedonia put things back where they belonged and won themselves a 82:74 win. Aleksandar Kostoski had 20 points on his account, while Romeo Travis added 18.

Slovenia were down by 3 points at half time in Kosovska Mitrovica, but even though they have been playing without both of the Dragić brothers, Slovenia have managed to turn the game around in the second half and cruise towards the fourth victory in four games. The final margin was 10 points (91:81) and former Union Olimpija member Klemen Prepelič shined with 27 points, while Gašper Vidmar scored 20.

Bosnia and Herzegovina were defeated for the second time in the EuroBasket 2017 Qualifyers and for the second time in occurred to them against Russia, this time at home in Tuzla. The BiH side played an excellent first half and already held a 16-point lead, but the guests managed to turn the game around in the second part and celebrate a 78:67 win. Mirza Teletović led the way in scoring for BiH, Jusuf Nurkić followed with 18.
