Minute of silence for the FC Chapecoense tragedy

ABA League community express its sincerest condolences following the tragic accident, which hit the Brazillian Sporting community after a plane accident of the football club Chapecoense.

The story of FC Chapecoense has been a sporting fairy-tale, as the team from a small and modest city have jumped, step by step, from the lowest level of Brazilian football leagues in 2008 into the very international elite. It has been a story of everything sports competitions are about, all until the sad day, when a plane crash stopped them on their way the Copa Sudamericana Finals game in Colombia.

To honor the victims of the tragical event for the entire sporting community, ABA League has mandated a minute of silence before each of the games in the 12th round of the 2016/17 season.

ABA League, its clubs, its players, and its coaches, will, together as one team, continue to strive towards writing new sporting fairy-tales in our beautiful sport of basketball.
