Despite the last round defeat in Ljubljana, Budućnost VOLI haven’t given up on their fight for the second spot in the standings at the end of the regular season. The next obstacle on their way will be FMP, a team that have won two games in a row recently and have no desire of stopping there!

ABA League 24th round, Saturday, 25.2.2017:

BUDUĆNOST VOLI - FMP

Where? Morača Sports Hall, Podgorica

When? 21:00

Story of the game: Budućnost VOLI have been defeated last round on the road in Tivoli against Union Olimpija, but this does not lower their ambitions of reaching the second place in the standings at the end of the regular season, which would earn them the home court advantage in the semi-finals.

However, to achieve that, the blue and white have no more rights for mistakes, so they desperately need to triumph over FMP, which for sure would not be an easy task.

The squad led by Branko Maksimović from the bench are in a red hot form at the moment, since they have won their last two encounters in the ABA League and three out of their last four. The Belgrade side still have ambitions to reach the fifth place in the standings at the end of the regular season and for sure they will not give up on that easily. Their goal for Saturday night is one and only – to take the two points home from Morača.

The first time the two sides met this season, Budućnost VOLI have triumphed on the road in FMP Sports Hall with the final score of 77:69.

Match-up in focus: Marcus Williams or Filip Čović. The two pass-masters will try to prove that they are better than their rival and it will be a spectacle to watch. Čović is currently the third passer of the ABA League with 6.39 assists per game on his record, while Williams holds the sixth spot with 6.13. To how far will they count this time?

Head to head in regional league: In total 6:7; in Podgorica 3:3.
