The first round of 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers is here

It's national team week, with 5 countries from our region starting their mission in 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.

The first round of 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup European Qualifiers starts on Friday, November 24th.

FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 is specific for many reasons: It will be hosted by China for the first time; it will be expanded from 24 to 32 teams and finally, there will be a totally new format of qualification tournaments, with 5 countries from our region trying to win precious tickets for the main event.

Montenegro and Slovenia will play in Group A, Croatia will participate in Group D, Bosnia & Herzegovina are placed in Group E, while Serbia will play in Group G of 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup European Qualifiers.

In the 1st stage of European Qualifiers there will be 32 teams, divided into eight groups of four. Each team will face another team within a group on the home and away bases. The top three teams of each group will progress to the 2nd stage of European Qualifiers.

Of course, there will be plenty of current and former ABA League players participating in 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and we wished them all good fortune in the upcoming competition.

Group D, Friday, 24.11.2017:

Netherlands – Croatia (20:00)

Group E, Friday, 24.11.2017:

Bosnia and Herzegovina – Russia (18:45)

Group G, Friday, 24.11.2017:

Serbia – Austria (20:00)
