Union Olimpija have beaten MZT Skopje Aerodrom at the season's opening in Stožice Arena, Ljubljana. Aleš Pipan without success against his former team.

Game recap: Just like they did twice last season, Union Olimpija put on a convincing display against MZT Skopje Aerodrom. In Stožice Arena, the final score was in favour of the home team against the Skopje side, led by their former head coach Aleš Pipan.
Key moments: Afer they led by only a point, three minutes before the half time, Sava Lešić (6) and Zack Wright (4) combined 10 points for the 10:4 partial result in the final three minutes of the first half and gave Olimpija a 7-point lead at the break. It was a run that MZT Skopje Aerodrom have never recovered from in the second part.
Man of the match: Just as it was expected from him ever since he signed with the green and white, Sava Lešić led the young Union Olimpija squad and was the key individual to steer them towards the first success of the season. He finished the game with 19 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist.
Can't trick the stats: Unlike at their preseason games, Union Olimpija did not exagerrate in shooting three pointers and it payed off - their excellent field goal shooting percentage (73% for 2 points), (50% for 3) were perhaps the key for their court domination.
