The first month of the 2016/17 season is behind us and we have the first monthly MVP this season. It is Cibona's big man Ante Žižić, who has earned himself the MVP of the 4th and 7th round awards previously.

Ante Žižić has proven, throughout the month of October his dominance at the ABA League courts wherever he has appeared and has finished the month as the statistically most valuable player of the regional competition with an average index rating of 30.29, almost 3 points on average more than the second player on the list – his teammate Željko Šakić!

Žižić has also become the league’s top rebounder (9.29 rebounds per game), second scorer (21 points per game) and third shot blocker (1.71 blocks per game) in October.

However, the most important thing is that he has been the driving force of Cibona, which had an excellent start to the 2016/17 campaign in the ABA League, winning 6 out of their seven games so far, which puts them on third place in the standings, together with Partizan NIS of Belgrade.

Take a look at some of the greatest plays of Ante Žižić during the month of October:

“I am fully satisfied with the way the season has started in the ABA League, both for us as Cibona team, as well as me individually. We have demonstrated character in every single game, given our maximum. It also affected my game, since I could not have been as efficient without the help of my teammates,” Žižić told about his performances in the opening month of the season, adding that he will not stop there, but will continue to raise the quality of his performances: “I believe that I have lots of reserves still in my game and that it can still improve a lot in the following part of the season.”

Žižić has previously earned himself a Top Prospect award for the best young player of the ABA League last season.
