Serbia suffered a pretty shocking defeat against Germany in front of the packed stands in Spens Sports Hall, Novi Sad. It’s shocking because Serbian team were up by 81:76 on 70 seconds before the end of the match, but then Germans made a super fast 12:0 run and prevailed – 81:88.

The good thing though is that Serbia have qualified for the next stage of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers despite this defeat. In the Second Round of the European Qualifiers, Serbia will face Greece, Estonia and Israel.

Bosnia & Herzegovina also finished the First Round with a defeat. The boys coached by Duško Vujošević were defeated by Belgium away, after a dramatic ending. Elmedin Kikanović firstly had a chance to tie the score, but he missed the second free-throw at the score 78:77, with 3 seconds remaining on the clock. On the other side, Belgian player also made just 1 free-throw - 79:77, so BiH got another chance to take the win. Elmedin Kikanović received the ball right outside the 3-point line, but he missed the shot at the buzzer.

In the Second Round of the European Qualifiers Bosnia & Herzegovina will play against Czech Republic, Finland and Bulgaria.
