EuroBasket Qualifiers: First win for Slovenia

In the EuroBasket Qualifiers Slovenia have achieved their first win of the qualifiers by beating Austria at home in Koper. Serbia and North Macedonia were defeated by Georgia and Russia, respectively.

In Group B, North Macedonia has suffered a road defeat in Perm against Russia in a game, where the Russians were in front for the majority of the clash and deservedly celebrated a win in the end. By halftime, the hosts were up by 2 points (38:36) and their lead increased to four ahead of the final quarter (57:53). In the final quarter they have confirmed their supremacy and celebrated a win with the final score of 77:67.

In Group E, Serbia suffered an unexpected defeat by Georgia after a major comeback by the guests in the second half. Serbia went up by 10 points already in the opening quarter (28:18), but in the remainder of the game, Georgia managed to get in front and eventually, after a close finish of the game, get away wit ha 94:90 win.

In Group F, Slovenia have rolled over Austria at home in Bonifika Arena in Koper and achieved their first win of the Qualifiers. The hosts have been a much better opponent than the guests and pulled away already in the opening half. At the big break, the margin between the two sides was 14 points (43:29). In the second half, the guests just did not manage to come up with the major comeback and Slovenia won 85:78.
