Story of the game: The games between Cibona and Crvena zvezda mts always attract much attention as we are here talking about two regional giants. However, in recent history only one team enjoyed this rivalry.
Crvena zvezda mts have scored 12 consecutive wins against Cibona in the ABA League, including 6 wins scored in Zagreb. The red & whites haven’t lost a single game in this rivalry since 2014!
And the Belgrade squad are once again considered as favorites ahead of the match against their old rivals. Crvena zvezda mts had a perfect preseason record as they have won all 8 prep games this summer. Still, they lost their first game of the season as they were defeated by Fenerbahce Beko in the opening round of the 2020/21 regular season, but that only means that the red & whites will now want to show their true face in the match in Zagreb.
Cibona have acquired some very talented players over the summer and this team should be extremely fun to watch in the 2020/21 season. They had to skip part of the preparation period as several players were tested positive for coronavirus, but they have played two preseason games and they have won both of them.
