Story of the game: On Saturday night, Partizan NIS will be hosting Cibona in the ABA League classic at home in Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall.
It’s an unusual situation since the basketball fans are used to seeing both Partizan NIS and Cibona in the battle for top positions in the standings, but it’s not really that way this time. However, it does not mean that the teams do not have much to play for this time.
Even though the fans of both squads aren’t thrilled with the results of their respective teams this season, the forthcoming game in Belgrade will be of vital importance for both of them.
Partizan NIS have lost their last five games in the ABA League and with a record of 7:11, winning is a must for them this time in order not to find themselves in the danger zone near the bottom of the ABA League standings and to move towards the middle of the standings.
On the other side, Cibona too wish to move upwards by getting back to the winning track, after they have lost their last game in the domestic derby against Split and have a record of 6:11 right now, meaning they have only got 2 wins more than Borac, who have scored the lowest number of them.
So, winning matters pretty much the same to both squads.
