Serbia started their Rio 2016 campaign with a convincing win against Venezuela - 86:62.

It couldn't have started better for Serbia. The boys coached by Aleksandar Djordjević showed a powerful performance in the 1st round of the Rio 2016 basketball tournament and scored an easy win over Venezuela - 86:62 (18:14, 26:9, 24:18, 18:21).

Only the opening quarter of the match was kind of close. Serbia won that period by 18:14, while then they increased the rhythm and dominated the 2nd quarter. The score says it all - Serbia vs. Venezuela 44:23 at the halftime.

The winner has been clear already at that point, but the Serbian crew still made sure that their rivals do not even think about any comeback. Teodosić, Bogdanović and Co. remained fully focused on the game and eventually picked up a well-deserved triumph.

Bogdan Bogdanovć was the top scorer in the winning side with 19 points, while Miroslav Raduljica finished the match with 18 points and 4 rebounds.

Serbia will play their next game against Australia on Monday, August 8.
