Montenegro scored its first win at the 2019 FIBA World Cup after beating Japan in the Classification Round for places 17-32.

Montenegro scored its first win at the 2019 FIBA World Cup after beating Japan in the Classification Round for places 17-32. The boys coached by Zvezdan Mitrović gained a double digit lead already in the opening quarter and had no troubles staying in front until the end of the match.

Nikola Vučević was once again the best player in the team, as he scored 18 points and had 7 rebounds. Budućnost VOLI point guard Nikola Ivanović finished the match with 12 points, while Mornar’s new center Milko Bjelica had 10 points and 7 rebounds.
