Darko Bajo extends contract with Split for 2 more years

Split have started creating the team for the 2020/21 ABA League season and their first big move was extending the contract with 21-year old power forward Darko Bajo. The two sides have signed a new 2-year deal which will keep Bajo among the Yellow crew until the summer of 2022.

“From the very first day here I’ve been saying that I am extremely happy in Split. I’ve enjoyed every moment of the previous season and I believe that it will be the same in the next one. Playing in the famous yellow jersey of Split is a big step forward in my career and I am convinced that we will build a team which will play an important role in the next ABA League season. I am pleased that I have signed a contract early this summer as now I can fully focus on the preparation period,” said Bajo.

“Extending contract with Darko was one of our first wishes in the current transfer period and we are very happy that the negotiations were successful. It’s the first part of our 2020/21 puzzle, but we won’t speak a lot about the future transfers. The team management will work hard and we will do everything we can to create a team which will attract a lot of fans to the stands", said Split Sports Director Vedran Vukušić.

Darko Bajo ostaje u Splitu

Darko Bajo i naredne dvije sezone nosit će dres Splita. Bajo (21 godina) potpisao je ugovor do 2022. godine.

- Od prvog dana sam govorio da sam sretan i zadovoljan u Splitu, uživao sam u svakom trenutku prošle sezone, vjerujem da će tako biti i dalje. Igranje u "žutom" dresu za mene je veliki iskorak u karijeri, na Gripama se osjećam odlično, imamo fenomenalnu navijačku podršku, a siguran sam da ćemo složiti momčad koja će imati što za reći u ABA ligi i domaćim natjecanjima. Sretan sam što sam već sada sve riješio, sada se u miru mogu posvetiti radu i napretku - rekao je Bajo.

Zadovoljstvo Bajinim potpisom iskazao je i sportski direktor Vedran Vukušić.

- Darkov potpis bio nam je jedna od prvih želja, zadovoljni smo što se to i ostvarilo. Njegov ostanak je prvi kotačić u slaganju kvalitetne momčadi, sada idemo dalje. Nećemo se baviti velikim najavama, radimo u tišini i sve ćemo učiniti da imamo momčad zbog koje će navijači dolaziti na tribine - kazao je Vukušić.
