Crvena zvezda Telekom have beaten Mega Leks at their opening of the season in Hala Pionir, but it was tougher than many would expect from the clash of ABA League champions against young side from Sremska Mitrovica.

Game recap: The reigning ABA League champions Crvena zvezda Telekom have achieved their first triumph of the season at home in Hala Pionir against young Mega Leks squad, but had to put major effort in, in order to celebrate, since Mega Leks played an amazing game and was also in front for a major part of the game.
Key moments: After huge comeback by Crvena zvezda Telekom at the beginning of the second half, Mega Leks managed to come back and tie the game at 58:58 in 34th minute. However, that was when crvena zvezda scored five points in a row on two offensive plays in two minutes and it was a moment from which Mega never managed to come in front again until the very end.
Man of the match: Branko Lazić was not only the second best scorer of the red and white with 13 points (and 3/5 three point success rate), but was also the key man for the winning side, when it mattered the most. He scored five straight points for Zvezda's 5:0 run following the Mega Leks' comeback midway through the last period, which gave the red and white a 63:58 lead.
Can't trick the stats: Mega Leks was a true rival to Crvena zvezda Telekom throughout the majority of the game and in all aspects, but one can not overlook the fact that Zvezda's win was a true team effort - 18 assists against 8 of Mega was the key difference of the game.
