MZT did not allow epic comeback of Igokea

MZT Skopje Aerodrom have once again played with the nerves of their fans. Still this time they managed to keep the lead until the end and to score a win over Igokea.

Game recap: 2:0, 4:0, 6:0, 9:2, 13:5, 18:7, 25:7... Once again MZT Skopje Aerodrom had the perfect opening, but... Everyone in the home team were well aware of what happened in the previous two rounds when they dropped huge lead so easily. Therefore, this time the squad of Aleš Pipan were ready for every attempt of the rival to return into this game. Well, almost every attempt to be fully precise, because Igokea was very close to make an epic comeback in the last quarter… With a bit of luck and skill, MZT Skopje Aerodrom rejected that last push of the rival.

Key moments: Igokea was down 61:45 before the last 10 minutes, so they went for all or nothing in the final quarter. And, the away team approached to 66:60, 4 minutes before the end! They had 4 huge opportunities to reduce the margin even more… They did not use any them! Vuk Radivojević missed an easy lay-up, then Nemanja Todorović made a silly tunrover by passing the ball out of bounds, the same player them missed a three-pointer and finally Aleksandar Ćapin"s attempt for a long range two-pointer was not successful. On the other side Damjan Stojanovski punished them with a three-pointer for 69:60.

Man of the match: MZT Skopje Aerodrom had two players with double-double achievements. Marko Ljubičić had 10 points and 10 assists, while Danilo Mijatović scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds. Let"s say that two of them shared the MVP award.

Can"t trick the stats: Rebounding! Such an important element in basketball game. MZT Skopje Aerodrom had 31 defensive and 11 offensive rebounds, while Igokea answered with only 22+2. Enough said.
