INTERVIEW: Žan Mark Šiško: "I know who played in this jersey"

He was patient. Very important thing to have when you are only 18 years old. He was waiting for everything to resolve and to finally get a permission to make a debut for Cibona. And, when that day has finally come, when he was about to play his first ever game in the ABA League, young Žan Mark šiško "ignited" the Hall in Zagreb.

One of the most talented basketball players in the region had a dream debut. His Cibona defeated Igokea, while he contributed with 11 points (without a single missed shot) and with the overall index rating of 16.

Žan Mark šiško showed that Cibona have signed a great player.

Was it difficult to choose Cibona among all clubs?

"No, it was not. When they contacted me for the first time in March we had couple of talks... That was it. Cibona is a great club and I know who played in this jersey. Still, it was difficult, as I did not know when I will be able to make a debut. I could have been in a month, it could have been in four months... I could only work, so I worked and waited for this day to come."

What do you expect from Cibona in this season?

"We had a lot of problems with injuries and therefore we were unable to have proper trainings. It's almost impossible even to gather to play 5 on 5. But, now we got Siriščević and Florence, couple of players recovered from injuries, so I hope that we will play better and better."

Playing in Cibona is a big deal for any young player. How will that affect your career?

"The most important thing for me is to improve my skills. Cibona are well known for working good with young players."

Žan Mark šiško: "Znam tko je igrao ovdje"

Bio je strpljiv. Osobina koja je veoma bitna kada imate tek 18 godina. Čekao je da se sve reši i da konačno može da debituje za Cibonu. A, kada je došao taj dan da je stekao pravo da odigra svoju prvu utakmicu u ABA ligi, mladi Žan Mark šiško je zapalio dvoranu u Zagrebu.

Jedan od najtalentovanijih košarkaša sa ovih prostora je imao debi iz snova. U pobedi Cibone protiv Igokee, postigao je 11 poena, bez promašaja iz igre, a meč je završio sa indeksom korisnosti 16.

Žan Mark šiško je pokazao da je Cibona dobila velikog igrača.

Je li ti bilo teško odlučiti se za Cibonu?

"Nije bilo teško. Kada su prvi put kontaktirali u martu pričali smo par puta... To je bilo to. Cibona je veliki klub, znam tko je igrao ovdje. Ipak, bilo je vrlo teško, jer nisam znao kada ću moći da debitujem. Možda za mjesec dana, a možda za četiri. Mogao sam samo trenirati, trenirao sam i dočekao sam."

što očekuješ od Cibone u ovoj sezoni?

"Kao tim imamo dosta problema s ozljedama i zbog toga slabo treniramo. Teško da možemo da se skupimo za pet na pet. Ipak sada smo dobili Siriščevića i Florencea, par igrača se oporavilo, tako da se nadam da ćemo igrati sve bolje i bolje."

Kako će se igranje u Ciboni odraziti na tvoju karijeru?

"Najbitnije mi je da napredujem. U Ciboni se odlično radi s mladim igračima."
