Olimpija better than Bonn, Budućnost unfortunate

Union Olimpija are close to advancing into the next stage of Eurocup, after knocking Telekom Bonn on the road in Germany and achieving their 4th win of the season. Budućnost VOLI fell short in the home court thriller against Trabzonspor.

Union Olimpija have beaten Telekom Baskets Bonn on the road in Germany, achieved their second straight win and fourth overall this Eurocup season and are now only a step away from reaching the second stage. The Dragons have created a crucial margin in the opening period, when they scored no less than 31 points and have maintained it throughout the game. The home side threathened to take over the lead in the final moments of the game, but Olimpija prevailed in the end.

Sava Lešić topped Olimpija's scoresheet with 14 points on his account, while Zack Wright followed with 14.

The second round of Eurocup is slipping away from the hands of Budućnost VOLI squad, even though anything isn't over for them yet. In the 8th round, the Podgorica side unfortunately lost the home court thriller against Trabzonspor Medical Park by 3 points (79:82) in the end, after Omar Cook missed the buzzer-beating three point shot which would take the two sides into overtime in case it was successful.

Bojan Subotić was the top scorer of Budućnost VOLI with 19 points, while Tadija Dragićević followed him with 18.
