Story of the game: Everyone in Novo mesto still remember the last derby match against Union Olimpija. Because, it was probably the worst day for them in 2015... Krka suffered one of the heaviest defeats in their history as they lost the game in Ljubljana by 80:50!!! Therefore, they have only one goal for the beginning of the new year - To make a sweet revenge to the old rival and to stay in the race for the Playoffs.
At the same time, Union Olimpija is not having such a wonderful season, despite that big win in the previous derby against Krka. The Dragons are more concerned about how to escape far away from the relegation zone, than to think about the Playoffs. However, another win against the eternal rival would definitely raise the spirits inside the team.
Match-up in focus: They have the same surname, but they are not related, nor they are in the same club. Luka Lapornik is in Krka, while Miha Lapornik is in Union Olimpija. The only things that connect them are that they are both great players and that they were pretty good in most of the games in this season. Still, only one will be able to brag about the win after the clash on Saturday evening.
