Union Olimpija resisted Maccabi only for a half
Union Olimpija were not successful at their first Eurocup Last 32 game. On the road in Tel Aviv, they fell against Maccabi Fox after a dominating display of the home side in the second half.
Union Olimpija started their Eurocup Last 32 campaign with a defeat on the road in Tel Aviv In Nokia Arena against Maccabi Fox, the ABA League champions from the 2011/12 season. Gašper Potočnik"s squad have resisted the home side"s pressure bravely in the first half, where they led by 4 points after first quarter and were behind by only 5 at half time.
In the second half, the game was much more one sided and it went clearly Maccabi"s way. In the final minutes the Dragons eventually managed to cut the deficit to the final margin of 9 points so the defeat was far from catastrophic. Olimpija"s top scorer was Ronalds Zakis with 14 points, while Zack Wright added 12.
