Game recap: In the second clash of the season between Union Olimpija and Tajfun, the Ljubljana side have managed to get their sweet revenge for the defeat in Celje in their first encounter. But, even most important for the green and white is the fact that this is their second consecutive win in the ABA League and that they are moving away from the danger zone at the bottom of the standings. On the other side, Tajfun are in much trouble after losing for the 8th straight time, since they are staying at the very bottom, together with Sutjeska.
Key moments: Even though Union Olimpija took an early double digit lead and afterwards Tajfun even managed to turn the game around, the outcome of the game was decided no earlier than 2 minutes before the end. Tajfun held their last lead of the game in 37th minute (64:63), but then a 13:2 run in favour of the home side followed, which ended in the last minute. Mitja Nikolić made the break with his crucial 3-pointer 2 minutes before an end, which gave his team a 71:66 lead. There was no return for Tajfun from this point.
Man of the match: Zack Wright shined this time in every possible way. He lifted the fans from their seats several times with wonderful moves and at the same time led the way for his team in scoring. He ended the game with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 2 steals. His valuation of 32 is just a confirmation that he rightfully deserves the title "Man of the match”.
Can't trick the stats: Tajfun players simply did not value the ball possession enough this time in order to grab a win in a tough away game. At the end they had 21 turnovers, which is way too much to beat a team like Union Olimpija.
