Game recap: In a spectacular game in Sremska Mitrovica, Union Olimpija fought bravely throughout the 40 minutes against already playoffs-bound Mega Leks and have deservedly taken a new pair of points back home to Ljubljana with them. This is an exceptionally important triumph for Gašper Potočnik"s youngsters, which represents a huge leap towards avoiding relegation from the regional competition. On the other side, Mega Leks" chances of reaching something more than fourth place ahead of playoffs are now only theoretical.
Key moments: A game, that could go anyone"s game throughout the 40 minutes, finally "broke” in the favour of guests with a minute and 10 seconds remaining on the clock, when Miha Lapornik managed to score a difficult 3-point shot and took his team up 79:78. It turned out that this was the decisive moment since Mega Leks did not score anymore until the very end of the clash. Union Olimpija had four free throws in the final minute, but took advantage only to two, which extended the thriller until the very final second. Mega had the final possession, tried their luck from beyond the arc twice in order to force an overtime, but did not manage to score.
Man of the match: Miha Lapornik was the hero of the match and also the top scorer of Union Olimpija, but still we must choose Sava Lešić to be the man of the match this time, since he was the so dominant on court in almost every aspect. He finished the game with a double-double (19 points and 11 rebounds), to which he added 4 assists for a valuation of 31!
Can't trick the stats: Union Olimpija made the difference during this game with their teamwork. They made no less than 19 assists, which led to excellent field goal execution (61% for two, 36% for three points) and this was the thing that decided the game in their favour in the end.
