MZT returned the national cup to their cupboard

After a year of break, since Rabotnički Skopje won the national cup trophy last season, MZT Skopje Aerodrom have returned on top to claim their third Macedonian National Cup trophy in the last four years, by beating Karpoš Sokoli in the final in Gevgelija.

It was tougher than many expected since the game was literally decided in the final minutes, as MZT Skopje Aerodrom have created the winning margin of six points (68:62) in the final period which they have won by 18:12.

Đorđe Drenovac was the top scorer of the Skopje ABA League side with 16 points, while Danilo Mijatović, Marko Ljubičić and Uroš Luković followed him with 10 points each on their accounts.

On their way towards the top of the national cup competition, MZT Skopje Aerodrom first outplayed Best Gevgelija 89:58 in the Quarter-finals. In their second step, Aleksandar Jončevski and his players have knocked down another home side - Kožuv, with the score of 72:62, to reach the final, where they were finally better than Karpoš Sokoli.
