ABA League 25th round, Sunday, 28.2.2016:
IGOKEA - Zadar 77:73 (27:19, 22:11, 19:23, 9:20)
Game recap: Igokea put on a fantastic performance at home court in Laktaši to overcome the 5th place hunting Zadar and what is even more surprising is the fact, that they have done the majority of the job in the opening quarter, when they have approached the milestone of 30 points and created themselves a double-digit advantage. With this victory, Igokea are now two wins away from last-before-last placed Sutjeska, which have one victory more ahead of them. Zadar, on the other side, is in a bit more difficult position in their battle for the final fifth place, as they remain with 11 victories on their account than Partizan NIS and Cibona, which have a game more to play.
Key moments: The period that was decisive was for sure the first quarter in which Igokea shined from the three-point line, with Vuk Radivojević (20 points until half time) and Danilo šibalić leading the way. Igosi finished the opening quarter with 27 points scored, while conceding only 19. They increased their advantage to 19 points by half-time (49:30) and the Dalmatian side never managed to recover from this deficit, despite cutting it to only three points in the final minute - there was just not enough time to eliminate such a handicap.
Man of the match: Only one name can be pointed out, even though Igokea showed a fantastic performance as a team. In the opening half, when Dragan Bajić"s squad pulled away, Vuk Radivojević was their hero. He collected no less than 20 points (3/3 from the 3-point line), 4 rebounds, assist and a valuation of 25 by half time. He finished the game with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists and is our man of the match.
Can't trick the stats: Even though Zadar were better than Igosi in many statistical categories, Igokea came out on top and the main difference in their favour was their 2-point field goal percentage. Both sides tried their luck 31-times from inside the arc, but while Igokea scored 18 times, Zadar managed to do it only 13 times. This is probably where the game went Igokea"s way.
