From -19 to huge win! Crvena zvezda triumphed in Malaga!!!

Crvena zvezda Telekom performed an epic comeback in the Euroleague TOP 16 match against Unicaja Malaga! The red and whites are now just a step away from advancing to the next stage!

What a night for Crvena zvezda Telekom! The Belgrade crew were down by 30:49 at the beginning of the third quarter in Malaga, but then they made something that can rarely be seen at basketball court! It is enough to write that Crvena zvezda Telekom put up 51 points in the second half, while Unicaja Malaga managed to score just 29!

It is difficult to describe what has happened in those 20 minutes. Marko Gudurić was the hero of the 3rd quarter, as he scored several important shots and helped the red and whites reduce the margin to 53:57. Still, Unicaja Malaga finished that period with a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Alberto Diaz for - 53:60… Those kinds of shots usually raise the morale of the team which scored a basket, but this time it only made Crvena zvezda Telekom players try even harder to make a comeback in the last quarter!

Head coach Dejan Radonjić then made a perfect call. He decided to put Marko Simonović back in the game, while the experienced player scored 4 three-pointers in the final period of the game! Generally, Crvena zvezda Telekom played a fantastic quarter, they outplayed Unicaja Malaga in every single element of the game and collected a well-deserved triumph. Now, the Belgrade crew need just one more win to definitely secure their place among the best 8 teams in Europe!!!

Cedevita were not that lucky, despite they also played a very good match this Friday. The Zagreb side were very, very close of making another major upset in Istanbul against Anadolu Efes. However, in a thrilling ending, the boys led by Veljko Mršić missed their chances, while the Turkish team used that to somehow prevail in this clash.
