ABA TV: Veselin Petrović - "The peak of our season"

Mega Leks assistant coach Veselin Petrović spoke about the ABA League Finals in which his team are about to face Crvena zvezda Telekom.

Did you expect at the beginning of the season that your team will play in the ABA League Finals?

"We have secretly hoped that something like this may happen. It was kind of our secret plan, to reach the ABA League Finals. Now, when we are finally there, I can say that it will be the peak of our season. We are playing against a great team, so it definitely won't be easy. On the other hand, we have proved in this season that we are a team, that we have good players, good coach and finally - good results. All of that give us hope that we can be a worthy rival to Crvena zvezda Telekom."

You used to play basketball alongside with Dejan Milojević, while now you are working together in the coaching staff of Mega Leks. What is like to once again be in the same team with Milojević?

"It was probably the best possible decision after the end of my player's career. I came to the club which has ambitions, which has perspective, which has results... We are all trying to follow Milojević and to help him as best as we can. The whole club works on the basis of one big family, which is definitely one of the major reasons for this successful season. Hopefully, we won't stop now."

Mega Leks will play against Crvena zvezda Telekom in the ABA League Finals. What can you say about your rivals and about their season so far?

"Zvezda are having a fantastic season. It's not a small thing to play in the Euroleague Playoffs, where they had a chance to win in each game. We certainly have to respect their previous achievements, their players and coaching staff. We will see... The Finals are about to start on Thursday, everything is possible. We can hardly wait for the first game of the series"
