Mulaomerović now also head coach of BiH national team

Damir Mulaomerović, head coach of Cibona has been honoured with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team head coach title and will lead his national team in the EuroBasket 2017 Qualifying Round.

Damir Mulaomerović, head coach of Cibona has been honoured with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team head coach title and will lead his national team in the EuroBasket 2017 Qualifying Round.

Bosnia and Herzegovina have a new national team head coach and it has become Damir Mulaomerović, who is currently sitting at the bench of ABA League side Cibona. Mulaomerović won the voting for the new head coach at the KS BIH Board session, where seven of eight members voted in his favour. Another ABA League coach, Dragan Bajić of Igokea, won one vote as his competitior.

Mulaomerović arrived to Cibona midway through this season, as he replaced Slaven Rimac on the bench and led his team towards the eight position in the standings in the end. Before arriving to Zagreb he was a head coach of Sloboda Tuzla.

It"s worth mentioning, that five of the national teams of the national teams of ABA League countries will have new head coaches for national team competitions this summer. Besides Mulaomerović at BiH national team, Aleksandar Petrović will lead Croatia national team, Dragan Raca will lead Macedonia national team, Bogdan Tanjević will be in charge of Montenegro national team, while Slovenia will be led by Utah Jazz assistant coach Igor Kokoškov. Serbia still have the same head coach that led them in previous two competitions - Aleksandar Đorđević.
