Helios Suns lift Slovenian National Championship trophy for the second time

Helios Suns managed to win the game four of Slovenian National Championship finals, which is their third game of the series and a decisive one on their way towards winning the championship trophy, their second in the club's history.

Thanks to their excellent performance in the second half of the fourth game of Slovenian National Championship against Zlatorog, at home in Domžale, Helios Suns have won their third game of the final series and won the national championship trophy.

It was anybody's game as the half-time buzzer went on in Hala komunalnega centra, but at the beginning of the second part of the game, the Suns took control of the game and won the trid quarter by 8 points, which gave them a 9-point lead heading into the final quarter.

The guests managed to cut the deficit late in the game and headed to only 2 points (56:54) with 2 minutes remaining in the contest, but Marjan Čakarun and Jan Močnik stepped up with 4 point each until the end of the game, while Zlatorog only managed to put in 2 altogether. As Močnik scored 2 free throws with 15 second left for the score of 62:54, the celebration began.

Marjan Čakarun was the top scorer of the game with 19 points scored for the winners, while Dejan Jeftić scored 12 for Zlatorog.

This is the second Slovenian National Championship trophy for the Helios Suns, after they have won in before in 2006/07 season. On the way towards the top, they first eliminated Rogaška (2:1) in the Quarter-finals and afterwards Krka (2:1) in the Semi-finals before taking down Zlatorog (3:1) in the final series.
