Mihevc replaces Anzulović at Krka bench

After the season has ended the management of Krka decided to trust the helm of their senior squad to young and successful coach Dejan Mihevc, who will replace Vladimir Anzulović at the bench of the ABA League side from Novo mesto.

38-year old Mihevc is coming from šentjur, where he led Tajfun and managed to win Slovenian National Championship trophy in the 2014/15 season and a season later Slovenian Supercup, while this season he led Tajfun to seven victories in the ABA League, while in the domestic championship he reached the Quarter-finals, where they were eliminated by Union Olimpija.

The šentjur-originated coach started his coaching career in the youth categories of his home club and as the assistant to several senior team"s head coaches. He continued his career at the Slovenian Basketball Federation as the head of the national team program of youth categories and as U16 National Team head coach. He also worked in England, as the head coach of London Leopards with which he won the national championship trophy and won the national Cup, as well as the title of the best coach in Division 1. After his return to Slovenia, he led Grosuplje and reached the Quarter-finals of Slovenian National Championship.

Mihevc namesto Anzulovića na klopi Krke

Po končani sezoni so se v vodstvu Krke odločili, da vodenje članske ekipe zaupajo mlademu in uspešnemu trenerju Dejanu Mihevcu, ki bo na klopi novomeškega ABA ligaša zamenjal Vladimirja Anzulovića.

38 letni Mihevc prihaja iz šentjurja, kjer je zadnji dve sezoni vodil ekipo tamkajšnjega Tajfuna in v sezoni 2014/2015 z njo osvojil naslov državnega prvaka, sezono kasneje slovenski Superpokal, v minuli sezoni pa je v ligi ABA moštvo povedel do sedmih zmag, medtem ko je v državnem prvenstvu izpadel proti Union Olimpiji v četrtfinalu.

Rojen šentjurčan je trenersko pot začel v mlajših selekcijah domačega kluba in kot pomočnik več trenerjem članske ekipe. Kariero je nadaljeval pri Košarkarski zvezi Slovenije kot vodja reprezentanc mlajših starostnih kategorij in selektor kadetske reprezentance. Deloval je tudi v Angliji, kjer je vodil ekipo London Leopards in z njo osvojil naslov državnega in pokalnega zmagovalca in bil imenovan za trenerja leta v Diviziji 1. Po vrnitvi je v sezoni 2013/14 vodil ekipo Grosuplja in se z njo uvrstil v četrtfinale prvenstva Slovenije.
