President of the club greeted Mornar players at the first practice

Mornar President dr. Igor Lukšić has, at the first practice, wished the players lots of luck in the season ahead of them.

"I remember great atmosphere in the elementary school Jugoslavija, when Mornar played in First B league or in the nineties when it has been the top division member in Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The atmosphere then was unrepeatable, all until now. Participating in the ABA League, Qualifying Round for the Champions League or, eventually, FIBA Europe Cup, is something more than Mornar has ever achieved. The club has become a project of Bar and Montenegro and is the first team from Montenegrin seaside that will play in such a strong competition. Last year we announced our goal to enter ABA League and we reached it. Now we expect to fulfill our plan for this season - to keep our spot in the ABA League,” Lukšić stressed.

Head coach Đorđije Pavićević announced that he will speak with his brother Mihailo when he returns from China, in order for him to possibly take over the helm of the new ABA League member.

"We are getting stronger on all levels and have not ended our transfer period yet. We will also try to make our hall "Topolica” more functional for the players, fans and media. We expect that the hall would be packed at all ABA League games, everyone will have their seat available and all the tickets will be payed,” Pavićević announced.

Mornar započeo sa treninzima uoči nove sezone, igrače pozdravio predsednik kluba

Predjsednik Mornara dr. Igor Lukšić, na prozivci i prvom treningu, zaželio je igračima mnogo sreće u napornoj sezoni koja ih očekuje.

"Sjećam se sjajne atmosfere u sali Osnovne škole „Jugoslavija" kad je Mornar sredinom osamdesetih igrao u Prvoj „B" ligi ili devedesetih kad je bio prvoligaš u ondašnjoj SR Jugoslaviji. Bez obzira što je tada igrao i sa Zvezdom i Partizanom, ona atmosfera iz osamdesetih je bila neponovljiva, sve do sada. Učešće u ABA ligi i u kvalifikacijama za Ligu šampiona ili, eventualno Ligu Evrope, prevazilazi sve dosadašnje uspjehe Mornara. Klub je postao i barski i crnogorski projekat, prvi tim sa Crnogorskog primorja koji će igrati u ovako jakoj konkurenciji. Prošle godine najavili smo da nam je cilj ulazak u ABA ligu i ostvarili smo ga, očekujemo da ćemo uspjeti da ostvarimo i plan u ovoj sezoni, a to je da ostanemo ABA ligaši," naglasio je Lukšić.

Trener Đorđije Pavićević saopštio je novinarima da će sredinom mjeseca obaviti razgovor sa svojim bratom Mihailom, kad se ovaj vrati iz Kine, kako bi stariji Pavićević, eventualno, preuzeo stručni štab novog ABA ligaša.
