Serbia national team suffered their third defeat in four games at the Olympic Basketball Tournament in Rio de Janeiro, but did not at all leave poor impression, since they forced the USA national team to put all of their effort into the game in order to win.
The Americans entered the game fully focused and did not want to leave any room for coincidences against Serbia, which was clearly evident at the scoreboard in the 8th minute of the game, when the result was 27:9 in the favour of Americans.
However, Serbia did not surrender after being demolished in the opening minutes and fought their way back into the clash for two points and seriously threathened the stars and stripes. They kept cutting the gap and when Miloš Teodosić scored two free throws in 39th minute, he made it an only 3-point game (94:91).
Bogdan Bogdanović had the chance to take the game into overtime with a 3-point shot attempt, but he just wasn't accurate enough. The final score is 94:91 and Nikola Jokić was the top scorer of Serbia with 25 points, while Miroslav Raduljica and Miloš Teodosić added 18 apiece.
