They are always close, but simply not close enough. Still, Cedevita have high hopes that in the next season they might finally claim the ABA League throne.

Today's team: Cedevita

2015/16 record: 19-7

Current preseason score: 3-0

Cedevita have become one of the main powers in the regional basketball in recent years. The club from Zagreb has the continuity of good results, but there is just one thing missing in their cupboard. The ABA League trophy.

The Orange squad played in 3 finals of the regional competition, however every time they ended up losing the most important battle. In the 2015/16 ABA League season, Cedevita lost the 2nd place, and therefore the home court advantage in the Playoffs, in the final rounds of the Regular Season. After that they got eliminated by Crvena zvezda mts in the semifinal series.

Still, the club seem to be more determined than ever to finally become the best in the region, so it was quite active during the summer. Cedevita kept head coach Veljko Mršić and signed no less than 12 new players in the current transfer period.

Some of the names that landed in Zagreb are - Former Efes Pilsen small forward Scotty Hopson; Two foreign point guards - David Stockton, son of legendary NBA player John Stockton, and ex-member of Reno Bighorns and Westchester Knicks - Ra'shad James; The center's line should be much stronger after the arrival of experienced Mirza Begić...

Also, Cedevita made a big thing by keeping the starting center Miro Bilan and extending the contract with Croatia national team member Luka Babić, while they also count on one of the biggest basketball prospects in Europe - Džanan Musa.

We are about to see how much this team can achieve in the 2016/17 ABA League season.
