For a long, long time Crvena zvezda were trying to claim the throne in region and they finally made it in 2015. And, they did not stop there. The red and white crew reached the top one year later as well, as they won the 2015/16 ABA League. Now, the reigning ABA League champions are going for a three-in-a-row.

Crvena zvezda mts did lose some major players from the last season"s roster, but they managed to keep the core of the team. Four players extended their contracts including club captain Luka Mitrović, starting point guard Stefan Jović and two very important team players Marko Simonović and Nemanja Dangubić. Also, one of the best defenders in the league Branko Lazić stayed in the red & white crew, together with super talented Marko Gudurić and Boriša Simanić.

On top of that, team head Dejan Radonjić decided to reject all offers from other clubs and to continue his work with the Belgrade powerhouse.

The reigning ABA League champions have signed 3 new players so far, while 2 of them actually returned to the club. Charles Jenkins is back in Belgrade after one season spent in Italy, Milko Bjelica returned to Crvena zvezda after 10 years playing abroad, while the only "real” newcomer is Ognjen Kuzmić, former center of Panathinaikos.

The club announced that it is still active on the transfer market, so there might be some more arrivals until the start of the season.

Anyway, Crvena zvezda mts will have the highest possible ambitions in the 2016/17 campaign and their one and only goal will be to stay at the top.
