ABA League 2nd round, Wednesday, 5.10.2016:
Where? Boris Trajkovski Arena, Skopje
When? 20:00
Story of the game: History is about to be written as Karpoš Sokoli will play their first ever home game in the ABA League and their opponent in Boris Trajkovski Arena, Skopje, will be Igokea. Both teams will try to stand up after tough defeats in the opening round.
Whil Karpoš Sokoli were perhaps expectedly outplayed by Krka on the road in Novo mesto, since it was their first ever ABA League experience, one might argue that a most even battle with Cibona was expected from Igokea.
This will be a chance to start a successful chapter this season for both of the teams. It remains to be seen whether the home court of Karpoš Sokoli, or the experience of Igokea will be decisive this time.
Match-up in focus: Even though it was his first official game for Zoran Vrkić, he has already proven to be a valuable addition to Karpoš Sokoli side, as he had 11 points and 7 rebounds against Krka in the first round. On the other side, Blaž Mahkovic did not have his best night in the ABA League opener in Laktaši against Igokea, with only 2 points and a rebound on his account. He will try to improve his impression this time around and Vrkić will offer him a proper test.
Head to head in regional league: 0:0.
