Marcus Williams of Budućnost VOLI has answered on your questions! Read the full text and find out why he is wearing No. 3, who are his favourite players in the NBA and beyond, what is his opinion about the competition in the ABA League and more.

How tall are you without your shoes on?

“I’m 191 cm tall without wearing shoes.”

How old were you when you started playing basketball?

“I began playing basketball at my age of five.”

How many tattoos do you have and which one is your favourite?

“I can’t say how many because I have lost count, but the stick figures on my forearm are my favorite!”

Why are you wearing the number 3 on your jersey?

“When I got to Crvena zvezda mts, Nemanja Dangubić wore 6. That was the number I wore in Europe. That was also the first year in Europe we were allowed to wear numbers between 0 and 99. So I chose number 3 because of Allen Iverson.”

I have seen you playing FIFA video game and I have also seen you wearing different football (soccer) jerseys. Are you a huge fan of football and how long have you been following this game? Which is your favourite football club? Do you prefer playing FIFA or NBA 2K?

“I’ve been a fan of soccer for about 3 years now. I don’t have any favourite teams, only a few players I like. I like both video games equally.”

For many years it has looked like you are going to build your career in the NBA, but you ended up in Europe where you have built your name. Which is the main reason that you are playing in Europe right now in your opinion?

“Things just didn’t work out in the NBA. Here in Europe I’ve had some success and some fun. I wouldn’t change the path for even one step. It makes you the person you are.”

Which is the greatest achievement of your career so far?

“I think geting drafted in 2006 is my personal favorite.”

Who is, not including you, the best point guard in the ABA League in your opinion?

“I like the kid from Igokea, James Robinson.”

Who is the most creative player in Budućnost VOLI, who in ABA League and who in Europe?

“Most creative in Budućnost VOLI is Suad (Šehović). He turns plays that look like nothing into something great for our team with his hustle. I haven’t seen everyone in ABA League play but if I had to choose, Stefan Jović makes a lot happen for his team offensively. In Europe, I would have to say Miloš Teodosić or Nando De Colo.”

Who is the main candidate to win ABA League trophy and Euroleague trophy this season in your opinion?

“It is still early to make predictions for the ABA League. Crvena zvezda mts is the main favourite, Partizan NIS is strong this year so far. Cibona is playing great right now. You never know.”

Who is your favourite point guard in the World?

“Russell Westbrook.”

Is Stefan Jović a better point guard than you currently in your opinion?

“Hahaha!”

What do you think about Allen Iverson?

“He is the best guard ever 183 cm tall and under!”

Who is your favourite Serbian player?

“Bobi! (Marjanović)”

Who is your favourite NBA player and which is your favourite NBA team?

“Russell Westbrook is my favourite NBA player and I do not have a favourite NBA team!”

Have you followed the Olympic Basketball Tournament and what do you think about the performances of Serbian national team?

“It was no surprise to see how successful they were. There's a lot of talent in that country. A lot!”

Do you remember playing against Metalac Farmakom and what can you say about this club?

“They were a team that played hard and had great fans.”

How did it feel like playing for Crvena zvezda mts and what are your feelings towards this club in general?

“The atmosphere playing there was the best I’ve been a part of.  There is nothing like it... I have a great respect for my ex-teammates I’ve made history with as well as the fans.”

Are you looking forward to playing in Belgrade against Crvena zvezda mts and how do you think you will be accepted by their fans?

“I wouldn’t say that I’m looking forward to it... I’m honestly taking the season game by game. That’s the last game of the season for us. I’m sure that when that time comes I will change my mood on it.”

What do you think of Partizan NIS fans?

“Partizan fans are amazing. The whole country of Serbia has a great passion for the game which I love and respect.”

What is your favourite place in Montenegro and Serbia?

“Where the “vifi” is haha!”

Do you know what the word VOLI means in local language?

“Yes”

How long are you planning to stay at Budućnost VOLI and are you happy playing for this club and living in Montenegro?

“My contract is for one season. You never know what can happen at the end of the year. We will see. Yes, I like playing for this team. We have a first year coach who is doing a great job with us. We've had a tough start early because of injuries but he's motivated us to be as successful as we can be through these first 6 games in ABA League.”

What do you like the most about Podgorica?

“I would have to say the sea, which is near.”

What is your favourite food?

“My mom’s spaghetti!”
