EC: Cedevita better than MZT in ABA League clash

The third round of Eurocup was marked by the ABA League clash in Skopje, where MZT Skopje Aerodrom hosted Cedevita. The guests were the ones to celebrate first win of the European season.

Cedevita were a better team in the clash of ABA League teams on Wednesday night in Eurocup, as they have beaten MZT Skopje Aerodrom on the road in Jane Sandanski Arena, Skopje. The home side were the ones to start the game in a better fashion and led by 6 points when the half time buzzer went on, but Cedevita managed to turn the game around in the final quarter, which they have won by 9 points. It was enough for the visiting side in order to celebrate a victrory with the score of 89:85.

The newcomers were the top scorers on both sides – while Pierre Jackson scored 29 for the winners (Filip Krušlin followed him with 14), on the other side Daniel Clark topped the scoresheet with 23, while Xavier Thames added 18.

In the Group D contest, Hapoel Jerusalem were too strong for Union Olimpija in Stožice Arena, Ljubljana. The Dragons fought hard against the star-packed visiting team and even managed to come close to cut the deficit to only 2 points in the 27th minute, but then ran out of strength to compete for the final victory and lost by 15 points in the end (89:74). Dražen Bubnić was the top scorer of Union Olimpija with 17 points. Nikola Janković put in 12 for the Dragons.
