BCL: Partizan in Playoffs Round 1, Cibona continue journey in Europe Cup

In the last round of the FIBA Basketball Champions League Regular Season all 4 ABA League teams suffered defeats. One of them have advanced to the next stage of the competition, while one will continue the journey in FIBA Europe Cup.

Let us firstly start with Partizan NIS who is the only ABA League team which qualified for the FIBA Basketball Champions League Playoffs. The black & white crew suffered road defeat against Sassari in the final round of the Regular Season which mean only one thing - Partizan NIS will start the Playoffs stage from Round 1.

Recall that only the 1st placed teams from each group and the top three 2nd placed teams qualified directly to the Playoffs Round 2. Partizan NIS finished the Regular Season at the 3rd place in Group E, so they will firstly have to play in the Playoffs Round 1.

Cibona failed to reach the Playoffs stage in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, but they will continue their European journey in the FIBA Europe Cup. The Wolves got defeated by Oostende in the final round of the Regular Season and finished the group stage at the 6th place in Group D.

Finally, Mega Leks and Mornar ended their European campaign for the 2016/17 season. They both suffered defeats in the last round of Group D and finished the Regular Season at the 7th and 8th place respectively.
