Cibosi have started their preparations for new season

The group of Wolves that have gathered at the first practice under the guidance of the new head coach Slobodan Subotić in Zagreb are the following: Josip Bilinovac, Ivan Novačić, Karlo Uljarević, Mate Mandić, Josip Popić, Ante Gospić, Domagoj Bošnjak, Andrija Ćorić, Dominik Gilber and Krešimir Ljubičić while the American players Melvin Cleveland and Langston Hall, as well as captain Marin Rozić will join the team on 8 August, when the systematic medical examinations are scheduled.

Cibosi will spent a week in Zagreb, where they will practice twice a week and after the medical examinations they will move to Rogla for 10 days. Following their return from Rogla, they will play first friendly games and they will take part at the international tournament in Istanbul at the beginning of September. Besides the tournament in Turkey, Cibosi will play at the 9th memorial tournament Marijofil Džidić in Mostar, which is organized by HKK Zrinjski.

This season the ABA League Supercup will take place for the first time in Bar, where the best eight teams of the previous season, including Cibona, will take part.

Coach Slobodan Subotić ahead of the preparations: “We needed to begin our training camp earlier than it has been planned before, since the beginning of the ABA League season moved a week back. All of the players except two Americans and Rozić, which will arrive in Zagreb on 8 August are here and they will be with us when we depart for Rogla. We wished to begin the training camp with youngsters and players that I personally do not know that well, so that I could get familiar with them before our departure to the second part of the preparations, which are very important,” new tactician of Cibona stated and continued speaking about the goals ahead of the forthcoming season. “I expect for all of the players to come physically well prepared to the beginning of the preparations and to give their best throughout the training camp, since the goals that we have placed ahead of us aren’t small. I do not wish to speak about our plans, but I stick with what I have said during my introduction after signing with the club, that Cibona is a club that must fight for the top and that it will be just the same this season.”

Croatia national team member Luka Žorić will join the Wolves after the end of EuroBasket.

Cibosi počeli s pripremama

Cibona je kao prva momčad ABA lige ovog ljeta počela s pripremama na novu sezonu.

Vukovi su se pod vodstvom novog trenera Slobodana Subotića okupili u Zagrebu u sljedećem sastavu: Josip Bilinovac, Ivan Novačić, Karlo Uljarević, Mate Mandić, Josip Popić, Ante Gospić, Domagoj Bošnjak, Andrija Ćorić, Dominik Gilber i Krešimir Ljubičić dok će se Amerikanci Melvin Cleveland i Langston Hall te kapetan Marin Rozić priključiti momčadi 8. kolovoza kada su predviđeni sistematski pregledi.

Cibosi će tjedan dana boraviti u Zagrebu gdje će trenirati dva puta dnevno, a nakon obavljenih sistematskih pregleda putuju na 10-dnevne pripreme na Roglu. Po povratku s Rogle Vukovi će odigrati prve prijateljske utakmice, a početkom rujna očekuje ih međunarodni turnir u Istanbulu. Osim turnira u Turskoj Cibosi će sudjelovati i na 9. memorijalnom turniru Marijofil Džidić u Mostaru kojeg organizira HKK Zrinski.

Ove sezone od 20. do 23. rujna održat će se po prvi put ABA Super kup u Baru gdje će se okupiti osam najboljih ekipa lige među kojima je i Cibona.

Trener Slobodan Subotić uoči početka priprema: “Morali smo početi ranije s pripremama nego što je planirano jer se termin početka ABA lige pomjerio za tjedan ranije. Tu su svi igrači osim dva Amerikanca i Rozića koji stižu 8. kolovoza u Zagreb i bit će s nama do odlaska na glavne pripreme na Roglu 10. kolovoza. Htjeli smo početi s mlađim igračima i onima koje tako dobro ne poznajem kako bi ih prije odlasaka na visinske pripreme, koje su jako važne, mogao bolje upoznati,” izjavio je novi strateg Vukova te nastavio o ciljevima za novu sezonu. “Očekujem da će svi doći spremni na prozivku i da će dati sve od sebe jer naši ciljevi ove godine nisu mali. Ne bi htio reći sada što planiramo, ali kao što sam rekao na prvoj presici kad sam došao u klub, Cibona je momčad koja se mora boriti za vrh i tako će biti i ove godine.”

Momčadi nedostaje još hrvatski reprezentativac Luka Žorić koji će se priključiti Vukovima nakon EuroBasketa.
