Wins for Croatia and Serbia at EuroBasket 2017

FIBA EuroBasket 2017 goes on and Monday brought us a clash of two ABA League countries, in which Croatia were better than Montenegro. Serbia outscored hosts Turkey in Istanbul.

Croatia are the winners of the Monday’s ABA League countries’ clash at the FIBA EuroBasket 2017, as they have edged out Montenegro thanks to their excellent first half, when they pulled away from their opponents and led by 12 (43:31) after 20 minutes. In the second part they managed to protect their advantage and the final score was 76:72 in favour of Croatia, for which Bojan Bogdanović led the way in scoring with 23 points and Dario Šarić followed with 14. For Monenegro, Tyrese Rice scored 22 points and Bojan Dubljević 17.

Serbia achieved their second win of the tournament, by beating hosts Turkey in Fenerbahce Arena in Istanbul. It has been a thriller until the final minutes of the game and perhaps the award for the key play goes to Vladimir Lučić, who scored a crucial 3-pointer with 2 minutes and 20 seconds remaining on the clock to take his team ahead 76:70 and Serbia pulled away. The final score was 80:74 in favour of Serbia, for which Bogdan Bogdanović was the top scorer with 17 points, while Stefan Jović added 15 for the Eagles.
