Story of the game: In the opening game of the ABA League Playoffs, Crvena zvezda mts will be hosting Mornar in Aleksandar Nikolić Hall in Belgrade! While the reigning champions will try their best to get easily past their challengers from the Adriatic coast and to qualify for the Finals as soon as possible in order to defend their title, ambitious Mornar bar will try to make a sensation.
By reaching the Semi-finals, Mihailo Pavićević and his men have alredy written history, as it is their maiden Playoffs berth in the ABA League and by beating the red and white they would do it again – as they would have beaten Crvena zvezda mts for the first time ever in the regional competition! The two sides have met four times by now and each time the Belgrade squad were better.
In the finish of the regular season, it seems that Crvena zvezda mts have been slightly more effective than Mornar, as they have won their last 7 games in a row, while Mornar have won 2 in a row and 4 out of last 5 games. However, both are in the fantastic shape and on Sunday, a magnificent showdown is expected.
