2018/19 ABA League Teams – Budućnost VOLI

No, they are not just the reigning champions of ABA League. They are the local heroes! They are the reason why the kids from Podgorica have been playing basketball in front of their buildings during the whole summer. They are Budućnost VOLI.
A long awaited dream has finally come true for this team. Budućnost VOLI have won the ABA League trophy for the first time in club’s history and have therefore broke the curse of painful defeats at final tournaments. But, they do not want to stop there. They want to keep dreaming…
Therefore, Budućnost VOLI have once again formed a strong team, which is about to compete both in ABA League and in EuroLeague.
The team management have extended contracts with the two best players from the last season – Nikola Ivanović and Nemanja Gordić, as well as with two domestic guys Sead Šehović and Zoran Nikolić. Also, the club signed 4 foreign players – Edwin Jackson, Aaron Craft, Coty Clarke and Earl Craft, while probably the most important thing about the next-season team is that it will still be coached by the man who brought the trophy to Podgorica - Aleksandar Džikić.
With team captain Suad Šehović, then Filip Barović, Aleksa Ilić, Petar Popović and Danilo Nikolić still in the roster, Budućnost VOLI definitely look powerful. And they want to keep the ABA trophy in their cupboard for at least another year.
