ABA League Round 16, Friday, 18.1.2019:

KRKA - IGOKEA

Where? Leon Štukelj Hall, Novo mesto

When? 18:00

Story of the game: Extremely important game for both sides is coming up in Novo mesto on Friday night, where Krka will be hosting Igokea in the opening clash of the ABA League Round 16. Both teams are currently fighting to avoid relegation from the ABA League and winning on Friday would be a big step towards achieving their objective.

Krka are currently the last placed team in the ABA League standings, with 4 wins grabbed in 15 games played so far. On the other side, Igokea are just a place above them with one win more. It’s therefore clear what winning would mean for either of the two sides this time.

Also, both teams have won only one game out of their last five, with Krka being in a 3-games-long winless streak and Igokea 2. So, a win would also mean some sort of a bounce back.

Historically, the games between the two sides have never been easy to predict in terms of a victory, as Igokea have won 7 of their mutual encounters and Krka 6. However, in Novo mesto Krka have been successful 4 times and Igokea twice.

Match-up in focus: Luka Lapornik against Danilo Anđušić! This will perhaps be the most exciting match-up at the game in Novo mesto. Lapornik is currently the top scorer (12.5 points per game) and second rebounder (4.1 rebounds per game) and second passer (3.2 assists per game of Krka). On the other side, Danilo Anđušić is currently the third in scoring average at the side of Igokea with 11.1 points scored per game. Who will prevail this time around and lead his team to victory?

Head to head in the regional league: In total 6:7; In Novo mesto 4:2.
