ABA League Round 21, Saturday, 9.3.2019:
PARTIZAN NIS - Igokea 67:57 (14:13, 17:10, 16:16, 20:18)
Game recap: Partizan NIS are still in the race for the second place in the standings at the end of the ABA League regular season, which would bring them home court advantage in the Playoffs. That’s certain after the victory of the black and white in their home game against Igokea. Partizan NIS now have 14 wins on their record, just as many as both Budućnost VOLI and Cedevita, with the latter two still having their 21st round game to play. On the other side, Igokea continue the season with 7 victories, only one more than the last placed Krka and Petrol Olimpija and will therefore stay in the danger zone all until their last game of the season, when they will be facing Zadar at home court.
Key moments: The game went Partizan NIS’ way in the second half of the second quarter. With 5 minutes on the clock, the black and white were still in front by only 2 points (21:19), but until the end of the quarter they have limited Igokea to only 4 points, whilst scoring 10, which put them in front by 8 points midway through the game (31:23). Igokea did not manage to stand up again after their poor offensive performance in the first half afterwards and the winners were the hosts.
Man of the match: Jock Landale shined in the ranks of Partizan, as he scored 17 points, while adding 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and a valuation of 30 to his stats. He is our man of the match!
Can’t trick the stats: Simply put, Partizan NIS have just outrebounded Igokea (45:34). That’s what was crucial for their victory this time around.
