This way the two sides can no begin preparing everything necessary for the 2019 Super Cup to become a truly successful beginning of the new season, where Crvena zvezda mts, Budućnost VOLI, Cedevita, Partizan NIS, Mega Bemax, FMP, Cibona as the hosts of the Super Cup tournament and Sixt Primorska will compete for the first trophy of the 2019-20 season in Dražen Petrović Arena in Zagreb, between 26 and 29 September.

During the ceremony, where the agreement on joint organization of the 2019 Super Cup was signed and afterwards, ABA League Director Krešimir Novosel, Cibona GM Domagoj Čavlović and captain Marin Rozić, as well as the representative of ABA League strategic partner, the MYD company, Željko Vela spoke about the forthcoming event.

Krešimir Novosel expects the organization of the tournament to be superb: “The third edition of ABA Super Cup, which has proven itself to be an exceptional introduction of each season, is ahead of us. After successful tournaments in Bar and Laktaši we are continuing with the tradition of switching the hosts cities and I am honoured that such a great club as Cibona has got the opportunity to co-host the event and I have no doubts that everything will be organized at the highest possible level.”

Željko Vela, the representative of MYD added: “Since 2019 MYD Sports ownds both media and marketing rights for the organization of both the U19 ABA League Final Four Tournament and the ABA Super Cup. This season’s U19 ABA League Championship Final Four Tournament was a major success. ABA Super Cup is an even greater challenge since it is the tournament with 9 teams. We have chosen Zagreb to be the venue since it is a city of rich basketball tradition with Cibona being a huge brand not only within our region, but wider and this is one of the most attractive basketball arenas within the region. It was a logical decision to include Cibona in a tournament besides the best 6 teams of the previous ABA League season, since they have finished 7th and also to include ABA League 2 champions Sixt Primorska, which can be a very attractive team to watch for the Zagreb basketball fans.”

The representatives of Cibona were pleased to get the chance to host the event. “The brand of Cibona and the name of this arena, where everyone enjoys playing will contribute to the fact that the Super Cup becomes a festival of basketball and that every team will demonstrate its best performance. We as co-hosts will do our best for every detail to be organized in the best possible way,” Domagoj Čavlović, the club’s GM stated, while captain Marin Rozić put it shortly: “It is always nice for the fans to see lots of teams to come to the same place before the season to find out how they look like. I am glad that the organization will be on a high level and that it will be a quality couple of days in Zagreb with great media coverage. I am happy for it and Zagreb is thirsty of such events.”
