U18 EC: Slovenia won the bronze

Slovenia have won the bronze medal at the U18 European Championship, after they have edged out hosts Greece in the third place game in Volos.

This is the second ever medal for Slovenia at the U18 European Championship and the first one after 17 years of waiting, since they have won the silver medal at the 2002 U18 European Championship.

Serbia have been defeated by Italy in their last game of the tournament, taking the tenth position, Montenegro have been defeated by Germany in the 11th place game, while Croatia have won the 13th place at the tournament by beating Finland in their last game.

Žiga Samar of Slovenia was named in the tournament’s All-Star five, as he averaged 11.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game while leading his Slovenia to the third place.
