2019/20 ABA League teams – Zadar
This is a totally different Zadar than the one in the previous season.

2019/20 Zadar
Last season was certainly not the best one for Zadar in the regional league. This team finished just above the bottom, therefore having to play the qualification round against the 2nd best ABA 2 team MZT Skopje Aerodrom. Luckily for Zadar, they prevailed in that clash and remained in the top division, but still it was obvious that the team management will have a lot of work to do during the summer.
Zadar decided to sign a new contract with head coach Ante Nazor and to keep just 5 players from the last season’s roster – Petar Marić, Domagoj Vuković and three youngsters Jure Planinić, Lovre Paleka & Roko Erslan. When it comes to newcomers, this club has signed 10 of them in the current transfer window.
Probably the most important transfer that Zadar completed this summer was signing the local hero Ive Ivanov. Ivanov has therefore returned to the club for which he had previously played in three different periods during his pro career. The other nine newcomers are Karlo Uljarević (Škrljevo), Jan Palokaj (Bosco), Ivan Siriščević (Pitesti), James Farr (Magnolia Hotshots), Bryon Allen (Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia), Martin Junaković (Nevezis), Dominic Gilbert (Cibona), Filip Vujičić (Dubrovnik) and Stefan Fundić (Mega Bemax).
No one really knows how much time will this new roster need to start playing good basketball. They had 3 wins and 3 defeats in the preseason and they still have two more weeks to prepare for the upcoming season.
In any case, this new Zadar should be interesting to watch.
