ABA League Round 16, Sunday, 19.1.2020:

ZADAR - IGOKEA

Where? Krešimir Ćosić Hall, Zadar.

Where? 17:00

Story of the game: If there is any rivalry in the ABA League in which the home-court advantage really makes the difference than it is the one between Zadar and Igokea. These two teams have faced each other 17 times so far in the regional competition, while only 2 times the away team seized the win.

The overall head-to-head score in Zadar is 6:2 for the home side, while Igokea have scored all 9 wins against Zadar in the games played in Laktaši.

In the upcoming match Zadar will be the one to have the home court advantage. The boys coached by Danijel Jusup have been in outstanding form, winning 3 out of 4 games in the ABA League, however then came the last-week derby match against Cibona in which Zadar suffered a heavy defeat and once again dropped to the danger zone on the standings. Zadar will therefore want to show a proper reaction and we do not need to point out how much a win would mean to this team in the battle to avoid relegation.

Igokea are on a 3-win streak in the championship and thanks to that amazing run the boys from Laktaši moved up to the 9th place on the standings. Igokea have scored those 3 wins against the teams from the top part of the standings, which makes their winning streak even more impressive.

Match-up in focus: Bryon Allen (Zadar) vs. Michael Green (Igokea). Bryon Allen is the league’s top scorer and, as long as Zadar’s other star player Dominik Mavra is sidelined, Allen will have to find a way of scoring even more points to help his team down on the court. On the other side, Michael Green has become a true leader of Igokea as he is averaging 13 points and 6.9 assists per match in the ABA League. In the last 3 games which Igokea won, Green made a total number of 30 assists.

Head to head in the regional league: In total 6:11; In Zadar 6:2.
