ABA League Round 19, Sunday, 9.2.2020:
Where? Laktaši Sports Hall, Laktaši
Where? 20:00
Story of the game: If you take a quick look at the standings you will see why this game is very, very important both for Igokea and Krka. The two sides currently have the same overall score – 6 wins and 12 defeats – while neither of them has yet secured the ABA League status for the following season.
And that is why both Igokea and Krka will do everything they can to win the Sunday’s match.
Neither side is in the best form. After scoring 4 consecutive wins in the regional league, Igokea have lost the previous 2 games in the season. Still, it must be mentioned that in those two games Igokea faced the last year’s finalists – Crvena zvezda mts and Budućnost VOLI.
On the other side, Krka are on a 3-game losing streak, while the reason for these recent bad results can be found in team injury problems. Both team point guards Paolo Marinelli and Glenn Cosey have been sidelined due to injuries and it is still a big question whether they will be ready for the upcoming match in Laktaši.
Match-up in focus: Rashad Vaughn is the only player of Igokea who scored 200+ points in the ongoing season, while in this match he will face Krka’s sharp shooter Luka Lapornik who has taken over the leader’s role in Novo mesto squad after the injury of Glenn Cosey. We are about to see who will win this battle of shooting guards.
Head to head in the regional league: In total 8:7; In Laktaši 5:2.
